6 Jackets Every Woman Should Own

How to build your outerwear wardrobe: Part 1...

1. The Leather Biker

The number one outerwear staple in my book. Pair it with skinny jeans and sneakers for that model-off-duty vibe or wear it over a pretty dress with ankle boots to toughen up a casual look.

2. The Denim Jacket

A trans-seasonal style winner, the denim jacket is another must-have. It pretty much makes my go-to uniform when paired with skinny jeans, a t-shirt and sneakers. Like the leather biker, it toughens up mini and maxi dresses - that perfect juxtaposition of wearing a pretty, floaty piece with this textured street style winner.

3. The Wool Coat

And now we come to the fun part... well it's fun for me because Australian winter doesn't really require these heavy winter warmers that I absolutely ADORE. I'm planning to invest in some soon however, with my move to London on the very near horizon! I did road test a good one at Sydney Fashion Week recently though and I must say, I felt like a pretty cool cosy cat.

4. The Longline Blazer

If I could literally shout about my love for longline blazers from the rooftops, I would. But alas, my house does not boast one and I like to think of myself as a somewhat decent neighbour. I wear mine with everything from jeans to dresses. The slim, longline cut is flattering on everyone.

5. The Duster Coat

A more recent addition to my wardrobe is the light-weight duster coat. I assume the name comes from its floor-dusting length, which just takes your look to the next level (#robelife). All my street style faves have rocked a duster on multiple occasions - cf. Kendall Jenner, Rosie Huntington-Whitely and Gigi Hadid. Wear it over literally any outfit and voila. Light grey has been my shade of choice lately - I love it over neutral dresses or all black looks.

6. The Trench

A classic so 'classic' you simply can't call your 'drobe complete without it. I mean, who doesn't want to a) stay warm b) stay dry and c) look like a badass detective? If the word 'Burberry' doesn't immediately pop into your mind then you haven't truly trenched yet. Belted or undone, the camel trench will be your best friend on wintery, wet days. You can bet your bottom dollar you will soon see me in one, probably paired with Hunter Wellies and possibly sipping on a thermos of tea as I leave Harrods... (yes, I know stereotypes are bad, but I do love tea, ok... and Brits).

  1. It’s my habit to navigate through several online stores to know about the current in winter wear, coats and Jackets. I would love to purchase selective items from ‘Stylewe’ because they are attractive looking and affordable.
