Cosy Cashmere in the City of Love

How to wear and care for a winter wardrobe staple...

Paris, mon amour! There's just nothing like the first time you set foot in the city of love. Its historic architecture and landmarks, world-famous shopping and equally famous patisseries are second to none. At this time of year, however, the big chill could have you shaking in your boots before you can say "Parlez vous anglais?". Without further ado, here's my packing list for a weekend in Paris:

1. A cashmere sweater. Chinti and Parker have a super luxe selection. (We'll talk about caring for your cashmere in a minute)
2. A long wool coat. Standard.
3. Comfortable over-the-knee boots.
4. A warm scarf (not pictured but definitely worn post-photographs!)
5. Your most Parisian pair of sunglasses. Disclaimer: won't increase warmth, will increase discreet people-watching and overall chicness.

No winter wardrobe is complete without a cashmere sweater. It's a small comfort that feels just a good as a warm hug. If you haven't invested in a cashmere piece, there's no time like the present. As my the saying goes, "don't put off until tomorrow what you can buy today..."

Cashmere isn't cheap, but its value per wear is definitely worth every penny. If cared for properly, it will last you a lifetime. The lovely team at Chinti and Parker have created a Cashmere Care Guide to give you the low down on the do's and don'ts of looking after your new piece. I definitely learned a few pro tips for cleaning, storage and de-piling! Happy clothes, happy life I say. Have a read here.
